Yesterday suddenly a rumor spread over Dhaka, Tareq Rahman, elder son of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, is severely injured after sleeping down on floor. The activists of BNP’s student forum, Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has suddenly burst out with processions and mass destruction activities all around Dhaka University Campus and Near Dhaka College. The fearful activities grew more and more as time goes on. When Police tried to resist them, clash started between the Chhatra Dal activists and Police Force.
The Chhatra Dal cadres got more ferocious and started destruction activities over road. They have broken several vehicles on road and put fire also. By this time some students from Dhaka College stopped a microbus passing by Dhanmondi Hawkers Market, beaten its driver, broken down the glasses and finally applied fire on it.
As the whole microbus was on fire, its gas cylinder burst out suddenly and one of its sharp broken part has pinched into a passer by’s chest and caused him die. The passer by later on identified as a businessman named Jahangir Alam.
Now the question is, a businessman, involved in such a sector by which a country like Bangladesh can dream of a better future in financial sector, has to die only for a rumor about such a political figure whose personality is highly targeted with questions about dishonesty and unfairness to the mass. Then this is the question to all, how could we expect a better day in Bangladesh’s politics and how could we dream a fair politics practice in Bangladesh out of family trends and a brighter economically solvent country?
