Members of the terrorist organization “the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria” (ISIS) have been increasingly targeted by U.S.-led airstrikes in both countries recently, and it appears the terror group’s upper management believes that foreign spies may be involved.
To address this problem ISIS is offering a cash reward to anyone who can handover “an agent collaborating with the Crusaders.”
Paper fliers, attributed to the ISIS high command in the Syrian city of Aleppo, have been seen on the ground and widely disseminated on social media platforms used by the group.
These fliers offer $5,000 to anyone who can capture an alleged informant, “or for information leading to such spies.”
In cash hungry Syria and Iraq such an appeal for that kind of money is attracting a lot of attention!
“Offering cash rewards for information is one of the best ways to collect intelligence on your enemy”, said one retired ex military intelligence officer I spoke with recently who declined the opportunity to be named in this report. “They have taken a page from our own handbook”, he added.
Recently the leader of ISIS Baghdadi was targeted in an airstrike on an ISIS vehicle convoy that was first believed to have to been killed him.
Spies in that instance were suspected of helping reveal Baghdadi’s exact whereabouts at the time. Of course, such a thing is impossible to really verify, but wouldn’t surprise me if it did.
