Two days prior to the suicide bomb attack, US embassy officials had shifted a few large boxes to the Marriott hotel in Islamabad. The boxes were taken inside the hotel without any security check, sources have said.

According to the Security Advisor to Prime Minister, Mr. Rehman Malik, members of Parliament were programmed to have Aftar dinner in the Marriott but the program was changed and the dinner for them was hosted in the Prime Minister’s Islamabad House on Saturday evening.
