GAZA CITY: Two people were wounded on Tuesday in an Israeli air strike targeting a Hamas militant on a motorcycle in the southern Gaza Strip, witnesses and medics said.
The militant hit by the strike in the southern town of Khan Yunis was seriously wounded, they said. A passer-by was also wounded.
The raid came several hours after an Israeli soldier was killed and three others were wounded in an explosion near the Gaza border east of Khan Yunis.
The incidents marked the deadliest flare-up of violence since Hamas and Israel declared mutual ceasefires on January 18 that put an end to a 22-day war in the coastal enclave.
