He has been accused of supplying classified information on the command centers and evacuation plans of civilians to Iran, Russia, and Palestine’s Hamas in exchange for cash payments. Mr. David Shamir has not responded formally to any of the charges yet. Authorities cite greed as the motive for Shamir’s actions.
It is said according to the indictment by the court that David Shamir who is forty-five years of age had sent an e-mail to Iran’s foreign ministry in April. However, it is added that Iran’s foreign ministry had refused Shamir’s offer. Another accusation that was added was of him faxing the same offer to Iranian consulates in both London, Great Britain and Istanbul, Turkey.
Earlier this month in November, Shamir was alleged to have sent the same offer to a university in the Gaza Strip. This university is known to be a Hamas stronghold. The offer was to join their “struggle” in exchange for money.
