Jammu, March 25, (Scoop News)-That Modi – Mufti tango would lack rhythm , beat and sync was common knowledge when they chose to be partners (Mehbooba’s words). That it would be such an amusing sight , few expected ,alleges Rigzin Jora, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Leader.
The roots of this public spectacles are embedded in their respective political ideologies, points out Jora. While the PDP makes no bones about its leaning towards separatist , the BJP has never shied away from wearing its hinduvta identity on its sleeves.
CLP leader said while the PDP is for making border irrelevant and restructuring the state constitution (hints of shared sovereignty of Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan – as per their election manifesto ), the BJP is for reclaiming territory under Pakistan occupation as per PM Modi’ s assertion in the parliament referring to the parliamentary resolution.
While Mufti Sayeed is for unconditional dialogue with all stake holder – meaning Hurriyat and separatists ;the BJP is for dialogue, if any, within the ambit of the constitution, the two are as different as chalk and cheese Jora said.
Yet they chose to get together, he said.
“Who says opposite poles don’t attract. Ask anyone with an elementary knowledge of physics. You only require the magnetic field of power and pelf. This alliance is an alliance of conveniences , not of “conviction” as claimed by Mufti Sayeed”, Jora maintained.
Jora alleged the alliance began on a wrong foot with Mufti Sayeed choosing to thank Pakistan, separatist and the Hurriyat in a bid to lessen his guilt of tying the knot with the right -wing hinduvta forces and to cool the tempers in the valley – causing widespread revulsion in the rest of the country and embarrassing its partner, the BJP.
This was followed by release of Masrat Alam to test the water – Mufti Sayeed is not known as the shrewdest politician for nothing ,Jora said and added but this raised the heckles of the Rambo in PM Modi leading him to convey his and the entire parliaments angst and anguish.
Jora said, if the country needed any comic / tragic moment ,this was it. Yet another comic moment followed. In a bid to assert the state’ s unique identity , a circular was issued to respect the sanctity of the flag – the BJP ministers were averse to wearing it on their vehicle, to be withdrawn the very next day under orders from Nagpur. Where has Mufti Sayeed’s firmness of decision gone, Jora asked.
Perhaps that is reserved for us , lesser mortals alleges Jora. One moment Mufti Sayeed thunders : AFSPA will have to go , claiming he chairs the Unified Command meeting .Two attacks – Kathua followed by Samba – he confesses army will have to be on board for AFSPA revocation. (SCOOP NEWS)
