The BN clearly won one state seat and one parliamentary seat during the recently held by-election. This just concluded by-election was called as a result of the death of both incumbents.
The Parliamentary seat is in the eastern state of Sabah and the state seat is in the northern state of Kelantan. Kelantan is now ruled by a member of the Opposition pact, the Islamic party of Malaysia or usually known as PAS.
Leaders of the various component parties in BN are now pointing to the detailed results which showed a clear shift of both Chinese and Indian voters to the ruling coalition.
