So far, it is endgame for embattled Rod Blagojevich. I had purposely left out “Illinois State Governor.” Why? This is because Blagojevich has been removed by impeachment. It is official that Blagojevich is no longer the Illinois State Governor. Patrick Quinn, the then Lieutenant Governor, is now the Illinois State Governor.
It was a unanimous vote by the Illinois State Senate by a vote of 59-0. This would seem that Blagojevich’s last ditch effort fell upon deaf ears in the Illinois State Senate. Also, this is historical.
Why? Blagojevich is the first in over twenty years to be removed by impeachment. The verdict handed show immediately took the position away from Blagojevich. On top of that, Blagojevich can never run for public office in the State of Illinois.
Also, Blagojevich is the first governor to be impeached in the state of Illinois. Perhaps the theatrics from Blagojevich has come to an end. While Blagojevich is no longer the Illinois State Governor, it is far from over for him.
In this respect, Blagojevich is no longer the Illinois Stage Governor. One had to admit that Blagojevich definitely fought tooth and nail in the impeachment proceedings.
