J&K Governor,CM greets people on Holi,which reminds us of our rich secular ethos & brotherhood

 

 

Jammu, February, 27 (Scoop News) – The Governor, N. N. Vohra,Chief Minister Omar Abdulla have extended warm greetings to the people on Holi, the festival of colours.

 

 In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that festivals are an important component of our rich cultural heritage which strengthens the bonds of brotherhood, love and amity. He expressed the hope that the coming Holi would spread happiness and joy all around and further promote harmony and brotherhood.

 Wishing a happy Holi to the people, the Governor prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.      

 

           Chief Minister,  Omar Abdullah has greeted the people on the eve of Holi, wishing the occasion to be harbinger of peace and prosperity for the State and the Country.

            In his felicitation message,  Omar said that Holi, the festival of colours reminds us of our rich secular ethos and brotherhood.

 

The Deputy Chief Minister,  Tara Chand has also greeted the people on the eve of Holi, the festival of colours and said that the day reminds us the victory of good over the evil.

            In his felicitation message,  Tara Chand said that this festival bridges the social gap and renews sweet relationship.

It may be mentioned here that Holi is one of the major festivals of India, Holi is celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety on the full moon day in the month of Phalgun which is the month of March as per the Gregorian calendar

Holi festival has an ancient origin and celebrates the triumph of ‘good’ over ‘bad’. The colorful festival bridges the social gap and renew sweet relationships. On this day, people hug and wish each other ‘Happy Holi’.  Holi celebration begins with lighting up of bonfire on the Holi eve.

Numerous legends & stories associated with Holi celebration makes the festival more exuberant and vivid. People rub ‘gulal’ and ‘abeer’ on each others’ faces and cheer up saying, "bura na maano Holi hai". Holi also gives a wonderful chance to send blessings and love to dear ones wrapped in a special Holi gift.
