This year’s theme of Global Agriconnect 2013 – “Agriculture Capacity Building : A New Paradigm” – aims at sensitising farmers and other stakeholders of Indian agriculture sector towards agri-capacity building, and impart the technology involved in increasing the additional income of the farmers through high value agriculture. The Krishi Gosthi will focus, inter alia, on – commercial agriculture, converting farmers into entrepreneurs, financial literacy, warehousing, custom hiring of farm implements, various schemes of govt and PSUs etc.
NABARD Regional Office Jammu & Kashmir, with its vision of ‘Gaon Badhe to Desh Badhe’ has sponsored the three-day visit of 19 farmers taken from its Farmers Clubs functioning in various districts of the State. This is first of such training & exposure visits of farmers to Agriconnect 2013 wherein they would have opportunity of direct exposure to new and emerging agricultural technologies as well as interaction and sharing of experience with experts from different parts of the country. It is expected that these farmers will be the change agents for dissemination of new learning and insights in their areas, which will, in turn facilitate better income generation and sustainable rural prosperity to the farming community.
