To a question, the State police chief said there had been no input of Al-Qaeda presence in the State. He said Abdullah Sani alias Dawood Khan, killed in an encounter with Army and police in Mendhar a day before, was a Jaish commander and co-ordinator of all militant outfits.
He said the police personnel of five newly raised battalions are under training and they are expected to roll-in by August-September.
"Police will have to play a bigger role in the coming days in the State", Khoda, flanked by IGP Jammu Ashok Gupta, DIG Jammu Farooq Khan and SSP Jammu Basant Rath, said.
Earlier while inaugurated a three storey building at Nawabad in
Ravinder Kotwal, Managing Director, J&K Police Housing Corporation, briefed the DGP about the construction of this multi storey building and the facilities developed for the jawans. He said that barracks constructed in the complex would accommodate more than 250 jawans comfortably.
