According to Joubert Strydom the convener of the South African selection committee he has been rested like other top players Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly of Indian and Stephen Fleming of New Zealand.
Former National cricket selector Hugh Page has warned that such decision taken by CSA could force other senior players to leave South Africa. He is also upset with the dropping of Jacque Kallis from the Twenty20 World Cup side. He said it was high time that cricket administrators did away with the policy of having certain number of coloured players in the National Side.

Jacque Kallis born on 16th October 1975 in Cape Town South Africa made his debut in international cricket in December 1995 against England at Durban. Since then he has scored above 8000 runs in test cricket and above 9000 runs in ODI. He has taken more than 200 wickets in both forms of cricket. In fact he is the only cricketer in the world to have scored more than 8000 runs and taken more than 200 wickets in both Test Cricket as well as One Day International.

He has even threatened to make himself unavailable for the South African national team in future. It will really be a big blow for the South African Team. It remains to be seen how the CSA convince him in the days to come. With the coming of ICL the top rated senior cricketer have very good opportunity to make money in the end of their career.
