James Nasti, 51, from Naperville, Illinois died on the summit of Mt. McKinley, the tallest mountain in North American, in Denali National Park, Alaska. Although over 100 climbers have died while trying to climb McKinley, James Nasti is the first to die at the top of the mountain.
Fellow climbers report that James Nasti was in good health during his climb of McKinley, also known as Denali. It wasn’t until he reached the top of the mountain that he suddenly collapsed and died. Denali park rangers say that James Nasti’s body is on a knife-like ridge that makes removal extremely difficult. The cause of Nasti’s death is still unknown.
