James Soares, 24, has been charged with murdering his parents with a grub hoe and dumping their bodies in the septic tank cesspool behind their house in Warren, RI.
Police don’t have a motive for the July 9 murders that claimed the lives of James Sr. and Marian Soares. They say that James Soares, the young man charged with the murders, lived in the family home, below which the dead bodies were found, for weeks after the couple had gone missing.
The apparent murder weapon, a grub hoe, is a gardening device that has one sharp end used for digging up dirt and grass and one side that serves as a sledge hammer. Police say James Soares used the sledge hammer side to kill his parents. They found the murder weapon along with the bodies in the cesspool behind the home.
James Soares will be arraigned today for the Warren, RI grub hoe cesspool killings.
