Jammu, September 23 : A day after attempting self immolation vegetable trader hailing from Ghagwal in Jammu, Jaswant Singh, was still battling for life admitted in the emergency ward of PGI Chandigarh. He was airlifted to the hospital after doctors in government medical college hospital referred him to PGI Chandigarh.
It may be mentioned that Jaswant attempted self immolation inside his shop in Ghagwal area located on Jammu -Pathankot national highway on Monday.
Singh was unhappy with the treatment meted out by the Jammu and Kashmir state government to the Amarnath Sanagrsh Samiti leaders in Jammu on Saturday where police opened lathi charge on Samiti leaders outside Abhinav Theater in Jammu before the solemn homage ceremony.
According to one of the close relatives Jagdish, the condition of Jaswant continues to be critical in Chandigarh. He is not in a condition to talk to anyone, he added."Doctors attending on him have not admitted him in the burns ward since Monday evening".
Jagdish said Jaswant was still undergoing treatment and was put under observation in the emergency ward of the hospital.
