Japanese Sailor Sets a Record in Crossing Pacific By a Wave Powered Boat

A Seventy-year old Japanese Man, Mr.Kenichi Horie, a sailor by profession and an environmentalist by passion has set a record as the FIRST person to cross Pacific Ocean in a Wave Powered Boat. He had completed successfully a 110-day solo voyage in a Boat propelled by Wave Power.

He had singularly navigated the 9.5 meter Boat which was equipped with two special fins at the front which can move like a dolphin tail each time it rises or falls with the rhythm of waves. He reached his destination in the channel between the main Japanese Islands of Honshu and Shikoku by covering the 7000 Kms from Hawaii without calling at any Port.

What all this super achiever wanted after this marathon feat was to go home as soon as possible to have home-made food.
