Bengaluru : India : Akshaya Patra Foundation – world’s largest mid-day meal programme implemented across seven states in India covering 10 lakh children in over 5700 schools. This foundation is run by ISKCON ( International Society for Krishna Conscious ) which is an NGO. Masashi Mizukami, Charge d’ Affaires ad interim, Embassy of Japan in India, on wednesday presented a cheque worth around Rs.30 lakhs to Sridhar Venkat, Execuitive Director, Akshaya Patra , under the scheme " Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects ". This mid-day meal programme feeds the poor school-going children and encourages attendance in schools. Those who want to donate to this noble cause can get in touch with ISKCON, Bangalore, India.
