On Tuesday, June 17, three convicted murders have been executed by hanging. The total of those executed since August is at 13. The three that were executed were 45 year old Tsutomu Miyazaki, 45 year old Shinji Mutsuda, and 73 year old Yoshio Yamasaki.
The murders committed by Mutsuda and Yamasaki pale in comparison to the acts committed by Miyazaki. But, it does not mean that murder is something to be taken lightly.
Mutsuda had killed two people during a robbery.
Yamasaki was convicted of killing two people for insurance money.
But the award of brutal notoriety in Japan right now has to go to Miyazaki. Violent pornographic videos were restricted all because of Miyazaki and his rash of killings. Miyazaki will go down in history of one of Japan’s notorious serial killers.
However, Miyazaki had committed the murders two decades ago. Still, the name of Miyazaki remains a mental scar. Many in Japan have considered Miyazaki not to be human; but a monster. Also, Miyazaki had never repented for his crimes.
Miyazaki was a sexual predator that kidnapped and murdered little girls between four and seven years of age. He would molest the girls before murdering them. In short, Miyazaki was a demon in disguise in most cases.
One much murder involved a 4 year old girl. Miyazaki burned the girl’s body and left the remains on the doorsteps of her parents. Still, Miyazaki would not repent. Instead, he would send letters taunting the police.
It was back in 2006 when Miyazaki was slapped with the death penalty. Miyazaki said that he had an alter-ego known as the “rat man.” He said that the rat-man was responsible for the killing.
Also, one could say that Miyazaki gives a bad name to fans of anime and manga. It was discovered that Miyazaki’s home was filled with anime and manga. This had given him the title of the “killer geek” by the public.
For Japan, the murders by Miyazaki were a mind frag.
However, the use of executions has been condemned by human rights groups such as Amnesty International. But, there are many in Japan that feel that such executions fit the matter.
This can be counted as the final chapter of Miyazaki’s “legacy.”
