I have been watching and listening for quite some time now and I can see that it is Christ Jesus that seems to be possibly the most offensive person in history. This one man claims that he is the only way into Heaven and the only way to get to God the Father. It is his contention that he is the truth, the life, and none shall come to the Father but by him. This indeed is offensive to those that are caught up in their own pride and believe that somehow through their own works they can get to Heaven. Oh, they will get to Heaven but can they stay there is the question.
Many believe that if they do good deeds that they will certainly earn their way into Heaven, and there are those that think they simply have to outweigh their bad deeds by their good. Either way they are incorrect and they have no knowledge in them. Salvation is given by the grace of God to those that believe in the Lord Jesus. This is offensive to everyone except the Christian and even to some in the Catholic Church, so in saying Jesus is the only way to Heaven we have offended most of the world. This leaves very few that shall be saved.
There were times when I tried to reconcile salvation without the need for Jesus. I thought to myself that God would let those that are good into Heaven even if they do not believe in Jesus Christ. I was wrong and that is not scriptural. If we could be saved by any other means then God would not have had to sacrifice his Son for us. Our trouble comes when we decide who is good or evil; we do not see sin as God does. To God all sins are equal. Have you not heard that he who breaks one part of the law has broken all of the law?
We also know that the only way to be redeemed through the breaking of the law is through the blood of sacrifice and here is where the Son of God was the perfect sacrifice without spot or blemish and good for the remittance of a lifetime of sin. I would expect this to be a joyous message for everyone, but sadly that is not the case and man through his own vain imaginings must try to help himself and will struggle against the will of God. What is the will of God you ask? To believe on him whom he sent and all that call upon his name shall be saved.
It is a very simple message and not one that should offend. The Jews are offended because they were trained by God that they must perform but the underlying message was to trust in God, however, they missed it and cannot let go of the laws yet. The Muslims know the message but they are so at odds with the Jews that they will deny the truth because if they admitted it then they must admit that the Jews were God’s chosen people. Therefore, they say that God had no Son and that Jesus was only a profit, albeit and very respected powerful one.
I must say that I am convinced that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and there is no way into salvation but through him. Therefore, for the sake of Jesus I am guilty of offending many but I count it as gain in this life that I should come to the knowledge f the truth. I beg anyone that is offended at Christ Jesus to please search the scriptures and your heart. I would rather see you in Heaven as a brother or sister, than in Hell as an enemy.
