Jammu February 23(Scoop News)-The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today strongly condemned the killing of innocent Sikhs in Pakistan by Talibani militants recently.
Speaker, Legislative Assembly, . M. A. Lone urged the State Government to take up the issue with the Centre for taking appropriate action.
The issue was raised by the Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation, . Raman Bhalla which was supported by the Members of all parties.
Meanwhile a complete bandh was observed in Jammu today in protest against the beheading of two Sikhs by Taliban in Pakistan.
Shops and business establishments remained closed in the city and private vehicles were partially off the roads.
Sikh protestors blocked the Jammu-Srinagar national highway for over four hours in Gangyal and Jammu areas, burnt tyres at Digiana, Camp and other places on highway and resorted to anti-Taliban slogans and demonstrations in the city.
The call for the bandh was given by Jammu and Kashmir Sikh United Front (JKSUF) and supported by BJP, VHP, JKNPP, Jammu Bar Association, Chamber of Commerce and Industry besides social organisations.
JKNPP headed by Shri Balwant Singh Mankotia MLA and State President has also expressed full support to the Bandh call given by Sikh fraternity against the brutal killing by beheading to Sikh brothers in Pakistan.
The Panthers Party expressed sympathy with the families of the victims and urged the government of India to take urgent and necessary action against the culprits state shielding the terrorists and murderers in Pakistan.
