J&K Assembly Speaker strongly refuted allegations of lathicharge by Marshals

Srinagar, 0ctober 07 (Scoop News) -Speaker of the legislative Assembly,  Mohammad Akbar Lone has strongly refuted the allegations made regarding resorting of lathicharge by Marshals inside the Assembly.

             Lone said that it was a result of disturbance of proceedings of Legislative assembly committed by some members of the opposition and which compelled him to issue the orders to Marshalls for removal of Members of the opposition who were persistently causing commotion. All who were present at that time are  to witness for the same.

            The Speaker said it is unfortunate that in this process, some Marshals and some MLAs of opposition received minor injuries for which I express deep sorrow.

            He reiterated his stand that keeping in view the democratic norms, the Members are required to maintain discipline of the House. He hoped that all Members will realize Legislative ethics and will express their opinion freely and frankly within the ambit of Legislative proceedings.
