J&K BJP concern over the decision of UPA to not file cases against Geelani & Arundhati

Jammu, October 29 (Scoop News) –J&K BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas while expressing concern over the decision of the UPA to not file cases against Ali Shah Geelani and Arundhati Roy for making subversive speeches at New Delhi a few days ago.

He alleged that he Congress-led UPA at the Centre has now totally been exposed. It has become crystal clear that whatever the separatists and anti-national elements have been uttering against the nation at different platforms on different occasions has the tacit acquisence of the Union government. 

Manhas said that it was on October 21 during a function “Azaadi-The only way” that Geelani and Arundhati made inflammatory and  provocatory speeches which were condemned by every nationalist Indian and it was expected that a case against them under Section 124 (A) of Indian Penal Code for disaffection against the State will be filed. Union government’s decision to ignore what they have uttered in the National Capital has sent very wrong signals across the country. Such an approach of the Union government towards those instigating seccessionism should leave no one in any doubt that the Govt. of India is not resolute and determined toensure and integrity and unity of the country.

Manhas said that the real problem of seccessionism and separatism in Jammu and Kashmnir is having its roots in New Delhi itself. In this regard, he  pointed out that while the nationalists of the state as also the people in the rest of the country were protesting against the most controversial speech delivered by the chief Minsiter  in the state assembly itself on October 6, it was astonishing that the Union Home Minister and the Foreign Affairs Minister did not find any thing ‘ objectionable’ in the said utterances of Omar Abdullah and on the contrary made obliquely approving comments on the same. There was little difference between the observations of the Chief Minister and those of the separatists viz-a- viz Kashmir, who claim that the future of the state is still to be decided and it was a tripartite issue within India, Pakistan and people of Kashmir.

The BJP chief said that the  country would not forgive them for their this rank  anti-national approach. He said it was due to the soft approach of the successive Congress-led governments at the Centre after Independence which encouraged the separatists and anti-national elements to make remarks against India and demand Azadi, Autonomy, Self-Rule etc. He asked the Union government to abandon its policy of appeasement and take stern action under law of the land against all such elements who create law and order problem as also work against the nation.
