J&K BJP criticizes the approach of government in releasing Shabir Shah

Jammu, November 04 (Scoop News) –  J&K BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, in a statement here today criticized the irresponsible and casual approach of the government in releasing, Shabir Shah, a known anti-national person on the eve of the festival season of minority community of the state.

In a statement Manhas said that the conduct of the government has been all the more depreciable by allowing him to hold press conference in Jammu, where Jammuites are already gravely concerned and disturbed by the recent utterances of the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah,  in the assembly at Srinagar in early October this year.

Recalling the recent events, Manhas referred to the enboldened brazenness of the known separatist & anti-national person Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani in making starkly anti-national statement in the national capital a few days ago, and said that this vigor and courage of these elements is the fall out of the state and central government’s soft approach and encouraging utterances by its stalwarts like Omar Abdullah, P.Chidambram and S. M. Krishna. He lamented the total lack of awareness on  part of both state and central government and the need to encourage and boost the morale of all nationalistic elements in the state and refrain from rewarding the known anti-nationals, especially on the eve of such important festival as Diwali.

The BJP Chief also condemned the statement of Shabir Shah, who while addressing a pres conference at Jammu described the BJYM activists as the hired goons of BJP. He said the nationalist party like BJP do not need to indulge in such practices of hiring or bribing, rather it has a mass based cadre and support of nationalist people. It is the separatists, who indulge in hiring goons and the same is clear from the fact that during the last four months, those indulging in stone pelting are stated to be the misled, hired  and poor youth of the valley.

Manhas advised the State government to not allow people like Geelani, Shabir Shah or others of their ilk to make attempts to disturb the peaceful and communal harmony of Jammu.

Shah was earlier released out of the jail on Wednesday evening after serving a nine month long jail term.
