JK BJP Kissan Morcha for Rail Roko at Kathua on April 13

Jammu, April 03 (Scoop News) –    BJP Kissan Morcha has decided to stop the train at Kathua (Govindsar) on April 3, demanding bonus of Rs. 500 on per quintal of wheat and implementation of the Swaminathan Commission Report.

In the first phase the farmers will agitate on the railway tracks and in the second phase the agitation would further move to Delhi where the Kissan Morcha would agitate in front of the Parliament to force the central government to implement Swaminathan Commission Report at the earliest. Blaming the UPA government as anti-farmer, BJP Kissan Morcha State President Karan Singh said that the Central government policies are not in favour of farmers and this is the reason that the government is delaying the implementation of Swaminathan Commission Report from last six years. In the report it is mentioned that the farmers should be compensated with the market value of the wheat but the government is ignoring the development of farmers and showing a careless attitude towards the deprived state of farmers which is even forcing them to commit suicide.

To awake the government, which is showing a careless attitude the farmers are forced to take this step of agitation as the BJP Kissan Morcha had earlier also repeatedly requested the Central Agriculture Minister to announce the bonus of Rs 500 on per quintal of wheat and implement the report of Swaminathan Commission but it seems that the government is least bothered about the necessary requirements of the farmers of the country.

Karan Singh also demanded that apart from wheat other food grain items should also be sold out at minimum support price in the market.

Chaggar Singh, Inderjit Singh, Capt. Kasturi Lal Sharma, Suraj Padha, Rashpal Verma, Swarn Singh, Ajit Singh, Jagdish Pandey, Rajinder Singh, Mukesh Sharma, Hans Raj Singh, Manohar Lal, Kuldeep Singh, Raghbir Singh, Kewal Krishan, Pishori Lal, Chuni Lal, Madan Lal Choudhary, Ravi Dutt sharma, Ravinder Singh, Prem Nath Dogra and others took part in the protest.
