Jammu, July 26 (Scoop News)-Terming the 1999 Kargil War as yet another attempt to capture our territory by Pakistan, BJP National Executive Member, Leader of Legislative Party & Jammu East MLA Ashok Khajuria said that our brave soldiers laid down their lives protecting mother India to defeat the nefarious designs of neighbouring country and they deserve salute.
Ashok Khajuria, while remembering the supreme sacrifices of hundreds of Indian soldiers, said that in the year 1999 Pakistan hatched a conspiracy to occupy our territory in Kargil through its regular army and trained militants but our brave soldiers gave a befitting reply and forced the Pakistani army men to run away. Although we got vacated our territory but the great sons of Mother India laid down their precious lives for nation, nation’s sovereignty and pride of motherland.
Khajuria said that July 26 is observed as martyrs day all over India in the memory of these brave soldiers who were honoured posthumously by the BJP-led NDA government under Atal Behari Vajpayee with full military honours. Besides, the families of these martyrs were provided financial and living support with dignity. It must be noted that the morale of Kargil heroes fighting against the odds at high altitude of Kargil Hills is remembered by the people in high esteem, he added.
Commenting on the present state of affairs vis-a-vis attitude of the Congress-led UPA and NC-Congress coalition of J&K towards army, Khajuria said that the brave soliders and other para military forces, including Jammu & Kashmir Police personals, have been fighting the across the border sponsored terrorism besides helping in maintaining law and order but unfortunately their services are not recognized. He said that every attempt is made to paint the army as the root of all problems and violator of human rights in this border state just for political mileage.
He said that there have been cases wherein innocent security men in uniform have been implicated in false cases despite the fact that their bravery have been even honoured. All this is done to demoralize them and win the applause of the anti-national and pro-separatist dispensations.
Khajuria warned the UPA as well as the state’s coalition to desist from framing false cases against army men and members of other forces adding that it is sending a very wrong signal across the country and there is resentment against the government.
