Jammu,September 4 (Scoop News) – Pledging its resolve to carry on the fight against rampant corruption and scams involving senior ministers and bureaucrats in state government, BJP today released to the press the resolutions passed by the party’s state executive at its just concluded 2-day meet.
At a session presided by State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, Seh-Prabhari J&K R.P. Singh, Former State President Daya Krishan Kotwal and Legislature party leader Jugal Kishore Sharma, the first resolution titled the Political Resolution was presented before the House by party’s National Executive Member & Chief Spokeperson Dr. Jitendra Singh. It was seconded by State Vice-president Pawan Gupta. The second resolution dealing with problems of Border areas and people living there was presented by BJP State Executive Member Sanjiv Sharma and seconded by Jugal Kishore Sharma. Dr. Dava, the BJP leader from Ladakh also proposed a resolution demanding Union Territory Status for Ladakh. A resolution boycotting the J&K tour by Ex-Interlocutors had already been passed by the state executive earlier on the first day of the meet.
The operative part of the "Political Resolution" resolved to (a) continue and accelerate the struggle to root out corruption from high offices and expose the persons who have embezzled public money in the Congress-led UPA government and NC-Congress coalition government at state, carry its agenda to resolve the problems of refugees of all categories including PoK, West Pakistan, Displaced Kashmiri Pandit and Migrants from terrorism affected areas, Oppose the state government’s rehabilitation policy for surrendered militants in its present form. Fulfil its nationalist obligation of upholding the finality of J&K state’s accession to India and fight against the designs of separatists, their patrons in the government and their masters across the borders.
The resolution on border people and their problems demanded (a) the formation of Border Area Development Authority to look after the problems faced by the people of border as regards health, education, roads etc. To encourage employment, Central as well as State Govt. should give some concessions in the Govt. jobs to these deserving people. There should be uniform criteria for recruitment in armed forces for the border people irrespective of living near LoC or International border. Co-operative movement should be encouraged to enhance the earnings of the people and to use the resources.
There should be a permanent and respectful compensation and rehabilitation policy for the physically disabled victims of the firing across the border. The party also demanded Border Defence Committees (BDCs) on the pattern of Vilage Defence Committees (VDCs) for better co-ordination between the people of border and BSF.
