Srinasgar,September, 16 (Scoop News) – The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, called on the Governor, N. N. Vohra, at Raj Bhavan here this evening.
The Governor and the Chief Minister discussed, for over an hour, the obtaining situation in the State in which Abdullah briefed the Governor about the measures being taken towards the restoration of normalcy.
The Governor particularly stressed the need for ensuring the effective security of the minority communities and the institutions run by them, including their places of worship. He also reiterated his grave concern about the most irreparable damage being done to the entire educational schedules of the students at all levels and the need to take all possible measures for the resumption of academic activities. The high importance of ensuring the functioning of the administrative apparatus was also underlined, particularly the need to ensure the delivery of public services and meeting the day to day needs of the common man.
