JK Christian Dalit Society condemns bomb strikes by Islamic terrorists at Church

Jammu, September 23 (Scoop News)- Jammu & Kashmir Christian Dalit Society has strongly condemned bomb strikes by Islamic terrorists at All Saints, Historical Church, in Peshawar, Pakistan, killing 78 innocent members of minority Christian community, including a large number of women and children, besides injuring 125 others.

A meeting of the society held here today under the chairmanship of its Chairman cum President S Peter expressed serious concern over continuous persecution of minority Christian community in Pakistan, where untold atrocities are being committed against the Christian community members. The society has appealed to the Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Shariff to provide full security and protection as well as a sense of dignity to the religious minorities, particularly the Christians in that country. The perpetrators of heinous crime of killing the innocent people gather for prayer in a Church should be severely punished. The meeting also condemned Pakistan for adopting exporting of terrorism to other countries as a state policy, which has ultimately recoiled on the country itself and the Islamic Jihadis now making Pakistan as their battle ground.

Stating that the Christians, wherever they are living, are loyal to their countries, conducting as good citizens and patriots of that country, yet they are feeling insecure and unprotected in many countries where they are in minority. The society has appealed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the Indian government to lodge a strong protest with Pakistan over persecution of minority Christians and particularly the Sunday killings of about 80 members of the community and injuring another 125, in bomb blasts at a Church in Peshawar, it has also appealed the Prime Minister of India to take up the case in the United Nations as well, during Manmohan Singh’s visit to New York to attend UN Conference. It has also appealed to the Secretary General United Nations Ban- Ki- Moon to take serious note of the incident and take initiative to censure Pakistan on this count, by the member countries.

The Jammu & Kashmir Christian Dalit Society has also expressed resentment over a sense of insecurity prevailing among the minority Christians even in India, where the members of the community are being made victims of religious fanatics. It observed that Christianity preaches peace and love for mankind and its members never hold ill will towards the members of any other community. It further expressed concern that even in J&K State Christian do not find themselves safe and living with dignity. Any unto do incident taking place anywhere in the world has its negative fall out on the members of Christian community, who are targeted by the religious fanatics.

Reasi/ Udhampur, Dalbir Masih District President Samba, Sagar Masih, Gulzar Masih, Vijay Masih, Raghubir Masih, Thomas Masih District Samba, Rakesh Mattoo District President Rural Akhnoor, Lazar Sotra Akhnoor, Sidani Rath Srg. and Girgan Leh.
