Udhampur, August 09 (Scoop News)- – While wishing success to the passing out cadets at the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) here on Saturday, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah said that the cadets are joining Jammu and Kashmir Police Force which is emerging as one of the most important police forces in the Country facing challenges of different natures on law and order front and combating militancy.
The Chief Minister referred to the great sacrifices made by the J&K Police Force to help restore peace in the State and curb militancy. He expressed the hope that the new pass outs alongwith other personnel of J&K Police Force will continue to exhibit the characteristic of being humane, people-friendly, justice giving equitably, prompt in service delivery and helping people in all circumstances. He also advised them for rendering their sevice with dedication and honesty.
The Chief Minister on the occasion announced enhancement of ration money allowance of police personnel to Rs. 800 per month with effect from July 2014 and Rs. 1000 per month from April 2015 onwards. This will involve an additional financial spending of around Rs. 72 crores.
Omar Abdullah also announced removal of pay anomalies at the level of Head Constable and Assistant Sub-Inspector. He said that government has taken many measures for the welfare of J&K Police personnel and would take further steps in this regard.
In case of Head Constables the new scale will be 4500-125-7000 from pre-revised to 4300-100-5900 and that of Assistant Sub-Inspectors 5000-150-8000 from pre-revised to 4500-7000. Detail modalities on this account will be worked out by the Home Department in consultation with the Finance Department.
The Chief Minister on the occasion also inaugurated Police Auditorium, took salute at the march past and gave away prizes to the outstanding cadets.
Minister for R&B, Abdul Majid Wani and Minister of State for Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kitchloo were also present on the occasion.
The Director General Police, K. Rajindra also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the sacrifices of J&K Police Force.
