Srinagar, December 16 (Scoop News) – J&K Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today said the decision regarding beautiful Gurez valley in Kashmir will be taken soon, either to expand the jurisdiction of existing Tourism Development Authority, Manasbal to cover Gurez valley or establish a separate Tourist Development Authority for Gurez so that God given natural beauty of the Gurez is tapped and showcased to the world.
while reviewing Ganderbal and Bandipora development board meetings here at SKICC today expressed satisfaction over the performance of officers of both the districts Ganderbal and Bandipora who inspite of various odds during recent past unrest remarkably succeeded in pursuing their development targets. However, the Chief Minister cautioned them to remain vigilant with regard to quality of works.
Minister for Rural Development, Ali Mohammad Sagar, who is also chairman of the District Development Board, Ganderbal, Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmad, Minister of State for Tourism, Nasir Aslam Wani, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Devendra Rana, MLC, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, MLC A.M. Bhat, Divisional Commissioner, Dr. Asgar Samoon, DIG, Munir Khan besides all the HOD’s and district heads.
The Chief Minister announced additionalities of over Rs. 3 crore to district Ganderbal for completing various works while Rs. 50 lakh were kept at the disposal of DDC as untied grants.
Similarly, the Chief Minister instructed DDC Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Lone to utilise the present Bus Stand Bandipora land for construction of
Omar Abdullah ordered release of Rs. 1.44 crore for district Bandipora as additionalities for completing the works.
Member Parliament, Sharif-ud-Din Shariq, Minister for CA&PD, Qamar Ali Akhoon, Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Devendra Rana, MLA Gurez, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, MLA Bandipora, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat were present in board meeting of district Bandipora. The MLAs and MLCs of Ganderbal and Bandipora district projected various demands regarding their constituencies.
Earlier, Chairman DDB, Ganderbal and Minister for Rural Development, Ali Mohammad Sagar assured the Chief Minister sad that the targets fixed for this fiscal would be achieved in full.
The Chairman DDB, Bandipora and Minister for CA&PD, Qamar Ali Akhoon while welcoming the Chief Minister that the officers have been directed to redouble their efforts so that fixed targets are achieved.
Welcoming the Chief Minister and other guests the DDC Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Lone highlighted the achievements recorded in various sectors in the district. He said 40.44 percent expenditure has been booked under various sectors.
Earlier, the DDC Ganderbal, s. Dilshad Khan shed light on the achievements registered in various sectors. She said 56 percent expenditure has been booked till November 2010 and assured that the ongoing works scheduled to complete these during this fiscal would be completed.
