Srinagar, October 01 (Scoop News) – Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday paid rich tributes to Ex-speaker Malik Mohi-ud-Din and legislator Paira Singh describing them politicians of excellence whose aim was to do politics for the betterment of people and the society. He said that the principles of human dignity and politics of public cause were benchmark of their political life and they rendered selfless service to the people.
Speaking on obituary references moved in State Legislative Assembly today to remember the late leaders, the Chief Minister said that Malik Mohi-ud-Din and Piara Singh would be remembered for their service as true friends of the people.
Omar Abdullah also condemned the blasphemous video adding that government would support any resolution to be presented in the House to denounce and condemn the derogative and blasphemous film which hurt the sentiments of people all over the world.
Expressing grief over the killing of Panchayat Members and showing solidarity with their families, the Chief Minister condemned the killing of innocent Panchayat Members who had intended to serve the people irrespective of any political motive.
The Chief Minister also referred to the passing away of former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Union Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh and paid tributes to him.
