New Delhi,May 18 (Scoop News) –Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Saturday afternoon met Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh here and discussed various matters pertaining to the peace and development in the State.
The focus of the discussion was recent earth quake which hit various parts of districts of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban. The Chief Minister while giving resume of the damages caused by the quake to the large number of public and private property including essential public service infrastructure demanded the package of relief for the affected people on the pattern, the Union Government had sanctioned for Leh cloud burst survivors.
Highlighting the need for such a type of relief, Omar Abdullah said that the earth quake sufferers of erstwhile Doda district which include Bhaderwah, Kishtwar and Ramban deserve this package for the backwardness of the area and poorer economic status of the people.
