Jammu, December 17 (Scoop News) –Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday reviewed the progress of works being executed by Surinsar-Mansar and Patnitop Development Authorities in the two separate meetings he chaired here.
Taking brief on the action taken status of decision taken in the last meeting of Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority (SMDA), the Chief Minister was informed that various beautification projects involving about Rs. 14 crores are being executed in the Surinsar-Mansar area. It was stated that under the works programme for the year 2012 Rs. 2.25 crore have been earmarked and an amount of about Rs. 60 lakhs has been incurred out of it on various works by the end of November 2012.
It was stated that works relating to building of Sarai in Utterbani, strengthening of Utterbani protection bund, strengthening of wooden jetties at Surinsar, construction of PC at bus stand Mansar, reconstruction of damaged jetties at Mansar and other about 30 works are under execution in the area. It was stated that 8 works involving Rs. 1.13 crore have also been taken in hand during the current year.
The Chief Executive Officer of SMDA made PowerPoint presentation in the meeting and gave resume of the works under progress for the development and beautification of Surinsar-Mansar and Utterbani areas.
The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) in another meeting and received the status of action taken on various decisions taken in the previous Development Authority meeting.
The Chief Executive Officer of PDA presented resume of the progress on various schemes under execution for the development and beautification of areas falling under the jurisdiction of PDA.
Matters relating to the construction of Mall road Kud, commissioning of STP at Patnitop, construction of Karlah-Gouri Kind road, Ariel ropeway in Patnitop, power supply, water supply, construction of bus and taxi stands, upgradation of springs, conservation of Surinsar Lake, creation of tourism related infrastructure at Batote, construction of yatri niwas at Sankh Pal Devta Sanasar, budget accommodation at Sudmahadev, construction of sanitation units and construction of road from Mantalai to Naina were also discussed in the meeting.
The Chief Minister underlined the need of preservation and protection of water bodies and health resorts adding that the attraction and natural beauty of these places should not get hampered while execution of necessary infrastructural development and beautification works.
The legislators Harshdev and Yashpal Kundal were present in the SMDA meeting while Ashok Kumar and Krishan Lal Bhagat participated in the PDA meeting.
The legislators Ashok Kumar and Krishan Lal expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his keen interest in the development of health resorts in the State.
