Jammu, December 10 (Scoop News) –Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday directed the JKPCC to expedite the work on over Rs. 100 crore new Assembly Complex being constructed near the existing legislature building here.
The Chief Minister visited the site and took stock of the progress of work on the project. The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Minister for Law, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Minister of State for Home, Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisors to the Chief Minister, Mubarak Gul and Devinder Singh Rana were accompanying the Chief Minister.
Managing Director, JKPCC, M. M. Gupta presented resume of the work schedule and explained construction details. He said the-state-of-art Legislature Complex will accommodate both the Houses, their secretariats besides having adequate press, official and public galleries. He said there will be a central hall and various lobbies available in the complex. He said there will be provision for two basement floors for parking and services. He said that the complex would be equipped with modern escalators and lifts.
