Jammu/New Delhi,July 17 (Scoop News) – Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Saturday had separate meetings with the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, the UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi and the Union Home Minister, P. Chidambaram in New Delhi,the capital of India.
Official sources said that Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister in his meeting with the Prime Minister apprised Dr. Manmohan Singh about the general security and law and order situation prevailing in the State and the steps afoot to bring about complete normalcy in the disturbed parts of the Valley.
Various matters pertaining to the present political scenario and economic development were also discussed in the meeting.

The issues relating to the J&K youth and creation of adequate jobs for them were also discussed thread bear in the meeting. Omar highlighted the need for involving the youth in the development process in a big way providing them ample opportunities of employment and work.
The Prime Minister asked the J&K Chief Minister to send him a comprehensive proposal in this regard assuring all possible help from the Center. Dr. Singh also assured full support to Omar led Government in its endeavour to steer the State towards the peace and economic progress.
The J&K Chief Minister in his meeting with the UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi discussed various matters relating to the recent developments in the State. The close cooperation between NC and Congress Parties in the State on all fronts was hailed in the meeting. The issues regarding further strengthening of coalition between the two parties were also discussed in the meeting.

Sources said Omar also met the Union Home Minster and had elaborated discussion with Chidambaram about the recent developments in the State particularly on the law and order front.
The two leaders discussed the present situation and the steps required for speedy restoration of normalcy. The requirements in terms of non-lethal equipments for the State police force and para-military forces to control large crowds also came up for discussion. The plan of action for the days and weeks to come to deal with the present situation received the focused attention in the meeting.
