New Delhi, April 07 (Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Tuesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed the overall political and developmental scenario of the State.
This was the first meeting of Mufti Sayeed with the Prime Minister after assuming the charge of the State as Chief Minister.
During his 30-minute-long meeting, Mufti Sayeed discussed with the Prime Minister the issue of bringing transparency in the system and improving governance in the State. He also discussed the matter of implementation of the Common Minimum Programme of the PDP-BJP Government in J&K.
The Prime Minister enquired about the recent flood-like situation caused due to incessant rains that lashed the State.
The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister about the prompt response of the state administration in dealing with the situation that had arisen due to continuous rains. He also thanked the Prime Minister for quickly responding to the State Government’s request for deputing NDRF teams to facilitate the state administration.
On the issue of rehabilitation of victims and restoration of infrastructure, the Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to take care of the population distressed by the floods of September 2014.
The Prime Minister assured Mufti Sayeed of Centre’s full support in funding of flood-affected people and restoration of public infrastructure.
