Jammu, January 07, (Scoop News)- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has condemned the killing of Assistant Sub Inspector of J&K Police Kafeel Ahmed in militancy related violence. He highlighted the sacrifice of duty bound Late Kafeel Ahmed and said that J&K Police personnel exhibited highest degree of bravery which has been the tradition of J&K Police Force.
In a condolence message to the bereaved family and Police Department, the Chief Minister has expressed grief over the killing of the police personnel and conveyed his solidarity to the bereaved family and the police force. He also prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Minister of State for Industries & Commerce, Sajad Ahmad Kichloo, who also hold the Home portfolio, has condoled the death of Assistant Sub Inspector, Kafeel Ahmad of J&K Police who was killed in action today at Sopore.
In a message of condolence to the family of late Kafeel, the Minister lauded the bravery of the cop who laid his life but not left the post.
Kichloo hoped that God would give strength to the family to bear with the irreparable loss.
Earlier in the day, a wreath laying function was organised at Zonal Police Headquarters where senior officers prayed for the departed soul.
It may be mentioned that Tuesday morning a police officer was killed and three other cops injured in an encounter with militants in Chanakhan area Sopore of Baramulla district in North Kashmir.
According to police official that on specific information about the presence of militants in Sopore town the police, assisted by the army, launched an anti- militancy operation in this area.
Police said that as the security forces were closing on a house where the militants were hiding, the ultras opened indiscriminate firing on them.
