Srinagar, June 22(Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has condemned the killing of two police personnel of J&K Police force at Hari Singh High Street here today describing it an act of barbaric and cowardice.

In his message to the bereaved families and Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, the Chief Minister expressed his solidarity with them and prayed for peace to the departed souls.

The Chief Minister lauded J&K Police force for their bravery and extra-ordinary dedication towards the duty and said that the men in uniform have always rendered valuable service and sacrifice their lives for the safety and protection of the people.

Minister of State for Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo has expressed his deep shock and anguish over the dastardly killing of two police personnel at Hari Singh High Street here today.

In his condolence message, Kichloo said that such acts are aimed at weakening the security scenario of the state adding that the police force is determined to face any challenge and threat posed by some vested interests.

Lauding the role of J&K police in maintaining peace and tranquillity at all costs, Kichloo said that the force deserves pat on shoulders for showing great patience at the time of any eventuality.

Kichloo prayed for the eternal peace to the departed souls and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.

He also wished speedy recovery of the injured person.

Advisor to Chief Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon and Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi paid floral tributes to Police personnel at police control room who were killed today at Hari Singh High Street. The dignitaries prayed eternal peace for the departed souls and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.

Director General Police Ashok Prasad and other senior police officers were present on the occasion.
