Jammu, February 11 (Scoop News) -The surrender policy announced by the J&K Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, is nothing but only is a step towards further promoting gun culture in the state, alleged by Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) state president, Shamsher Singh Manhas
Addressing media persons in Jammu today Manhas alleged that when around more than 6 lakh educated youth in the state are unemployed and government has failed to frame any policy for these people, where as the government is only thinking to promote the gun culture in state, as a result the security forces would also be demoralized.
He further addressed the differences occurred among the two coalition partners of the state. Citing the statement issued by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah against the Former Chief Minister and presently the Union Minister for Health, Ghulam Nabi Azad, in which he told the Union Minister that he had nothing to do with the Union Health Ministry, where as he is concerned only with the Union Home Ministry and is in well contact with them on the topic of new surrender policy. He urged the State Chief Minister to abandon the idea of Surrender policy as it will prove to dangerous for the nation as well as the state.
Criticizing some Cabinet Ministers and the Deputy Chief Minister, he said in view of the upcoming municipal elections in the state, these ministers have confined themselves to their respective constituencies only and have least concern for the other constituencies of the state. It is clear from the statement of the Dy. CM that three new Municipal Committees will be set up in Khour block only, while towns like Surankot, Mendhar and Bhaderwah, which have more area and population as compared to Khour block, have been totally ignored, which speaks of the biased attitude of the concerned minister. He reminded these ministers that they are heading various departments and are ministers of the whole of Jammu and Kashmir and not ministers of a particular constituency. Hence, it becomes imperative on their part to think about every area of the state rather than sticking to own constituencies only. He said if these ministers do not have time for other areas, better they quit their ministerial berths and serve their constituencies as MLAs.
