Srinagar, June 07 (Scoop News) –Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Thursday received detailed presentation of Draft Ganderbal Master Plan at a high level meeting here.
The Draft Master Plan has been prepared under the directions of the Chief Minister to address the growing requirements in Ganderbal town for upgradation of basic amenities, expansion of economic activities, development of new housing colonies, enhancing educational ambit, decongesting roads, creating lung places and sports arena, widening of roads, diverting the traffic flow from the heart of town to periphery by constructing new roads, creation of recreational facilities, beautification of riverfront, launch of IT sector initiatives, development of well designed drainage and sewerage systems, adequate water supply and area management.

The Chief Minister said that government is focusing on the holistic development of towns all over the State under state and centrally sponsored schemes. He said that the comprehensive development of these towns is being carried forward through Master Plans. He said each Master Plan should be substantiated with the zonal plan so that development takes place equitably, feasibly at all levels.
