J&K CM Says educational loss is irrevocable

 

           Jammu, September 27 (Scoop News) – Expressing the hope that people in general and political parties in particular will extend their helping hand to the government in restoring schooling in the Valley and making students to receive education in a peaceful atmosphere, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday said that education should be kept away from all differences and clashes.

            “Let us keep education neutral to all conflicts”, he said adding that anything can be rebuilt but the loss to the education of the students.

            Talking to media persons after inaugurating Rs. 5 Crore Attendants Sarai at Government Medical College Hospital here, the Chief Minister said that everyone should contribute in helping to save the loss of precious educational year of the students. “It is the responsibility of one and all to show concern and work positively for making the education system function properly and help students receive the education smoothly”, he said.

             The Chief Minister said that despite law and order situation in the Valley, the Government has paid due attention to the development aspects. “Efforts are on to complete the schemes aimed at providing basic amenities to the people and upgrading infrastructure in public service providing sectors”, he added.

            Omar expressed optimism that situation in the Valley will normalize soon and the development works completed well within the prescribed timeline. “Government is committed to equitable development in all areas and peace is pre-requisite to make necessary dent in development process”, he said.

            Appreciating people of Jammu for maintaining peace despite provocations by vested interests, he said that these elements tried their best to create hatred and law and order situation in the parts of Jammu region but people here frustrated all their designs. He asked them to remain cautious about the ill designs of such forces in future too.  

            Highlighting the efforts of the Government in upgrading the health care facilities across the State, the Chief Minister said that health sector has been flagged as one of the most important five sectors. “Massive development programme has been launched in this sector to upgrade primary, secondary and tertiary health facilities in the State”, he added.

            Omar said that the construction of Attendants Sarai at Jammu Medical College Hospital was a great step to benefit the people who come here with patients. He appreciated the gesture of the Public Representatives, including MPs, MLAs and MLCs who contributed in meeting the funds for the Sarai from their Constituency Development Funds.
