Udhampur/Jammu, June 14 (Scoop News) – Describing Jammu and Kashmir Police Force as one of the best forces in the Country, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Thursday asked the passing out probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police to make public service, sincerity and community policing benchmark of their service.
“You are entering into a force that has made his mark and is emerging as one of the best police forces in the Country”, he told them stressing on serving the State and the Country to the best of their capacity.

“There are so many challenges you have to come across during your service tenure”, he said asking them to render their service in accordance with the constitution and law of the land making professionalism and public friendly approach their standard of performance. He said that J&K Police is currently passing through a period of transition from militancy to peace restoration, as such, it has to deal with peculiar situation needing all the more professional dealing and exhibiting public friendly approach.
The Chief Minister said that transparency is the order of the day and his government has enacted various legislations including Public Service Guarantee Act and Right to Information Act to empower people. “You have to be lucid and clear in your every performance and delivery. You are being closely watched by the people, media and social media and government is committed to transparency in every field of life”, he told young Dy. SPs asking them to accomplish their responsibilities towards the State and the Country in their best capacity upholding the constitution and trust of the people.
Paying high tributes to police martyrs and praising the jawans and officers who have rendered meritorious service during their tenure, Omar Abdullah said that they have held the flag of the State and the Country high and sacrificed their lives for the cause of the people. He asked the probationary Dy.SPs to earn the trust of people and achieve new highs in their service tenure. “Whenever you have to take a decision, take it as per your conscience, commitment to your oath and in accordance with the constitution. This will always lead you to the success”, he told them.
Assuring full support to J&K Police in making it stronger and high professional police force in the Country, the Chief Minister said that his government would take all measures in this direction.
