Leh, May 30 (Scoop News)-To rule out any kind of lapses in the celebration of Singhey Khababs Sindhu Festival (SKSF) 2015 which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Jammu &Kashmir State Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on 12th June at Shey Manla Sindhu Ghat, the Deputy Commissioner, Leh Saugat Biswas who is also the Chairmen Organizing Committee SKSF along with SSP, Leh Dr. Sunil Gupta and team of officers and engineers today visited Sindhu Ghat and Multipurpose Indoor Stadium site opposite Council Secretariat to examine the arrangements of the festival.
At Sindhu Ghat SSP, Leh Dr. Sunil Gupta briefed the DC about the security arrangements and after having a full round of the area DC directed Superintending Engineer PWD, Leh S.R Dogra and Exn. Construction T. Angchuk to replace all the damaged tiles at the Sindhu Ghat with interlocking tiles by 6th May and also directed Executive Officer LDA Dr. Zaida Bano to ensure the cleanliness of the entire area before 3rd May. The DC instructed all the concerned HODs to execute their part of responsibility with sincerity and efficiency leaving no chance of any shortcomings in any kind of arrangements and said that he will visit the venue again on 3rd May to assess the progress.
Asking about the details of cultural programme, Biswas directed Convenor Cultural Committee SKSF Tsewang Paljor to ensure the installation of proper stage lighting system at the performing area. Briefing about the cultural programmes Paljor said that besides traditional Ladakhi performances an Odissi and Haryanvi performance will be the highlights of the event.
For inclusive space management of the Sindhu Ghat area, DC directed Exn. Construction to prepare a complete layout map of the area mentioning parking space for VIPs, tourists, general public and drinking water and toilets facility sites. Meanwhile Biswas directed PWD Department to provide 10 Nos of temporary toilets on the both sides of the Sindhu Ghat for both ladies and gents. Exn. PHE T. Tundup was directed to ensure adequate drinking water facility while as Exn. PDD T. Paljor was directed to provide sooth electricity supply through D.G Set at the festival site.
While inspecting the stage at the Multipurpose Indoor Stadium site opposite Council Secretariat where evening cultural show will be showcased during the three day festival, DC directed Exn. Construction to paint the entire stage with suitable colour and also instructed him to ensure comfortable sitting arrangement especially for the tourists. He also directed concerned departments to provide toilet and drinking water facilities for tourists and general public at the site and separate drinking water and toilet facility for artists at the backstage.
