Jammu, April 28 (Scoop News) – The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today welcomed the statement of Pak Foreign Minister on the need of dialogue between India and Pakistan to resolve issues confronting the two countries for the larger interests for peace and development in the sub- continent.
Omar said that the bilateral dialogue between the two neighbours is the only means to address the problems and find out permanent solution to issues amicably in tandem with the aspiration of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “In my opinion there should be regular and continuous dialogue between the two countries on every issue. Talks, infact should never be put on the backburner”, he said and maintained that even to register concerns and complaints on particular issues, talks are the only recourse.
The Chief Minister said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have travelled through a dark tunnel of uncertainty and violence during last two decades bearing the burnt of militancy and disturbance on various fronts. “Dialogue can lead to the light on the other side of the tunnel and every stakeholder in peace and development has to capitalise on the opportunities to work out a solution across the table”, he said.
Omar said the dialogue will not only help to resolve complex issues but pave the way for bilateral cooperation between the two countries even on apolitical areas like education, health, climate change, social service and culture adding that good relations between the two countries will help in lasting stability and progress in the sub-continent.
