ammu, November 08 (Scoop News) – J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on the first day of opening of offices at Jammu , reviewed the development and law and order situation in all the districts of Kashmir Valley utilizing the modern technology of video conferencing which lasted for over two hours.
The Chief Minister before commencing interaction with the District Development Commissioners of Kashmir awaiting their turn at their respective headquarters to reply the questions of Chief Minister on development and law and order scenario through a video conferencing, in a general message directing them to put in vigorous efforts for making good of the losses incurred on realization of development targets due to disturbances in the valley.
“Without compromising on quality of work I would like you to make every effort for spending the money on the works purposefully and meaningfully”, he said stressing on judicious expending of funds and realizing targets.
Yes sir, came the reply from the District Development Commissioners of Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Anantnag, Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian from their respective headquarters assuring all possible endeavours to fast track the development process and make good of the losses.
The Chief Minister directed the District Development Commissioners to formulate a befitting action plan for extending education session in the valley during winter months to help the students to make good of the losses they have incurred during the five months of law and order situation. “Government will provide required financial support to the department in this regard to ensure proper heating system in the schools.
Laying stress on reaching out people in every area to redress their grievances, the Chief Minister asked the District Development Commissioners to focus on supply of essential commodities, health care facilities, power supply, raising of buffer stocks of food grains, kerosene oil, LPG etc in the far flung and cut off areas, punctuality in offices and improving the public service delivery system.
Omar Abdullah also asked questions about the holding of public darbars by the District Development Commissioners and the follow up action on the grievances put forth by the people during these interaction meetings. He stressed on holding these meetings at every block and sending the report to his office regularly regarding the issues raised by the people for early attention of the government.
The Chief Minister also sensitized the district administration about the importance of formulating snow clearance action plan in advance to meet any eventuality on this count. “You should gear up men and machinery at all levels and to be prepared to respond to the public requirement in the hour of need during the winter months”, he said and directed for constant rapport of officers with the people at grass roots.
The Chief Minister asked the questions about attendance in offices, functioning of schools, plying of transport, macdamization programme, supply of drinking water, functioning of hospitals and health centers, attendance of doctors and paramedical staff and performance on spending funds earmarked under district development plans for various works.
Omar Abdullah also directed for making adequate arrangements for ensuing Eid-ul-Azha ensuring regular market checking and availability of essential commodities to the people.
Each District Development Commissioner presented resume of the general situation in the district and gave detailed answers to the questions put by the Chief Minister through the video conferencing.
Omar Abdullah said that he would continuously monitor the development scenario of each district through video conferences as also strengthening his usual practice of making field visits and interacting with people from all across during Public Mulakats.
The Advisors to the Chief Minister Mubarak Gul and Devender Singh Rana, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister B.B. Vyas and Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Asgar Samoon were also present.
