Jammu, February 15 (Scoop News) – Referring to recent disclosure in media about land grabbing by politicians and officials, former minister and Congress MLC Abdul Gani Vakil demanded a high level probe either by a high court judge or by CBI.
“I appreciate Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for having taken cognizance of the media report and ordered an inquiry. But it would be better, if the case is handed over to CBI or to a high court judge at the earliest,” Vakil opined in a statement.
Calling for need to break politician-officers-land grabber nexus, Vakil said that the nexus is deep-rooted and needs hammer handed approach. “Nexus cannot be broken easily and needs to dealt harshly.
Congress is firmly behind Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and would extend all possible help in cleansing the state from these rotten elements,” Vakil maintained.
Vakil urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that apart from ordering a probe, stringent action should be taken against all those who are involved in this land grabbing across entire Jammu and Kashmir. He also sought early constitution of the state accountability commission and appointing of two members of the State information commission.
