LEH (Ladakh) November 21 (Scoop News) – Chief Secretary,J&K Government Madhav Lal has impressed upon officers to dovetail resources for ensuring target realization relating to various ongoing works. He said wherever required provision for special funds would be considered to meet the set targets under different development sectors.
Chairing a review meeting here, the Chief Secretary took stock of the massive rehabilitation programme under implementation in Leh for the affected families of last year’s flash flood and restoration of damaged public service infrastructure.
Taking brief on the progress on various works taken up in hand under Special Task Force package, the Chief Secretary said that core areas identified for holistic development under the Scheme should receive focused attention, adding that wherever required additional flow of funds would be given due consideration.
He said pooling of resources and redoubling of efforts are required to reach out to people in remote and far flung areas besides ensuring success of the welfare schemes.
He asked the officers to revisit certain development schemes for expanding their orbit to cover more areas and population. “In this connection you should focus on area specific needs of the people”, he said adding that the ultimate goal of works programmes should result in substantial benefits to the people in fixed timeline.
In a PowerPoint presentation, Deputy Commissioner Leh presented details of the progress on various development schemes with special reference to the works being carried under the rehabilitation and reconstruction programme.
A brief about the allotment of funds and their spending with reference to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, National Calamity Relief Fund, etc was also presented to the Chief Secretary in the meeting.
The Chief Secretary, during his 2-day visit of Leh district, inaugurated a solar power plant of 12.5 KWP Capacity at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, and also visited 10.4KWP solar power plant at the LREDA office. He also inaugurated a new video conferencing facility at Leh besides inspecting various flood restoration works and and also visited Saboo village, SNM hospital and solar colony at Choglamsar.
