Srinagar, October 26(Scoop News) – Deputy Chief Minister, Mr Tara Chand has asked the authorities of SMC, PHE and NBCC to conduct a joint survey and spell out an alternate possible way so that the utilities , hampering the on-going projects in Srinagar city, are shifted in time bound manner. He framed a technical committee comprising Chief Engineers of Public Health Engineering(PHE) and Urban Engineering Environment Departments,(UEED) Managing Director, JK Housing Board, Superintending Engineer, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) while Commissioner SMC have been asked to coordinate them. Tara Chand directed officers to expedite land acquisition process wherever it required and ensure that projects are completed in time. He said Government is committed to provide accountable and transparent administration and asked officers to ensure accountability and transparency at all levels in their respective organizations.
Asking for improving financial health of their organizations, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the authorities of SDA, JDA, SMC, JMC and JK Housing Board to take concerted measures for increasing the profit base in order to ensure smooth functioning of their organizations. He directed them to enter into new business having ample possibility of profitability.
Tara Chand asked officers to know their duties and responsibilities and said that officers failing to achieve the targets will have to pay for shortfalls.
