J&K Government aims at educating every child in state:Peerzada

  Jammu, November 28 (Scoop News) –Maintaining that education is vital for personality development, Minister for Education and Public Enterprises Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed has said that Government aims at educating every child to produce productive, capable and enlightening human resources in the state.

            Addressing a function, organized by the A. S. N. Higher Secondary School, Resham Ghar, Jammu in connection with release of 6th issue of its combined annual school magazine “ ADARSH”, today, he said that measures have been initiated to ensure 100 % literacy in all the regions of the Jammu and Kashmir in near future.

            The Minister said that High and Higher Secondary schools falling in Winter Zones included Rajouri, Dada, Udhampur and Kathua will remain open during winter session to compensate academic losses suffered by the student community during unfortunate unrest in the valley adding that heating system facility would be provided in these educational institutions to ensure smooth conduct of classes.

            He said Government plans to provide free uniform to the students to encourage enrolement in Government schools.

            The Minister said that 14000 teachers would be given training subject wise through DIET’s during the winter session.

            The Minister appreciated the role of private educational institutions in providing quality education to the students. He, however, asked them to make a provision of 25 % in admissions for the students belonging to below poverty line. He asked them to follow the guidelines of SRO 123 issued by the Education department in this regard.

            The Minister said that our students are will and talented and need proper channelizing and polishing. He said that efforts have been made to improve the infrasture in educational institutions.

            Member Legislative Council  Ajay Sadhotra congratulated the School Management for showing brilliant performance in education as well as in extra-curricular activities. He also highlighted the achievements of the present government.

            Secretary, State Board of School Education, Dr. Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Deputy Inspector General Traffic Police, North Kashmir, Chairman, Adarsh Educational Trust, Jammu  A. K. Kapoor also addressed the function.

            Earlier the function started with lighting of Traditional lamp and later Minister for Education presented Souvenirs to all the people who contributed for the Magazine.

            Among others, Joint Director of Information, Jammu  Saujanya Sharma, Deputy Inspector of Police, CID Reasi  Sandeep Mehta, Secretary, AET  Rahul Kapoor, parents, teachers and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
