Srinagar, August 16 (Scoop News)-N. N. Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, administered the Oath of Office to Mrs. Gou-sul-Nissa Jeelani as Vigilance Commissioner in the State Vigilance Commission, at the Oath Ceremony held at Raj Bhavan here today.
The Governor congratulated Mrs. Gou-sul-Nissa Jeelani and wished her a successful tenure ahead.
Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister; Mohammad Iqbal Khandey, Chief Secretary; Kuldeep Khoda, Chief Vigilance Commissioner, State Vigilance Commission; G. R. Sufi, Chief Information Commissioner, State Information Commission; Dr. R. K. Jerath, Vigilance Commissioner, State Vigilance Commission; and family members of Mrs. Gou-sul-Nissa Jeelani were among those present at the Oath Ceremony.
Meanwhile N. N. Vohra, Governor, launched the Website of the 101stSession of the Indian Science Congress which shall be held at the Jammu University from 3rd-7thFebruary, 2014. He launched the Website through Video Conferencing from the Raj Bhavan here today.
Interacting with Prof. M. P. S. Ishar, Vice Chancellor of the Jammu University, through Video Conferencing, the Governor, who is Chancellor of the University, emphasized on the VC the importance of ensuring that all the arrangements and logistic facilities required for the projected Indian Science Congress, being held for the first time ever in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, are put in place well in time.
The Vice Chancellor briefed the Governor about the to-date status of the various arrangements being made for the Science Congress. Giving details, the Vice Chancellor said that the Science Congress Website (http://www.isc2014.in) will contain every item of information related to this mega scientific event. He further informed the Governor that the Website will facilitate online registration and accommodation of the delegates and provide them information about varied other aspects of the Science Congress.
The Governor emphasized the need for the timely finalization of all the academic events of the Congress and also hosting the relevant details on the Website. The Vice Chancellor stated that the Indian Science Congress Association is holding a meeting shortly for finalization of the academic aspects of the Science Congress and immediately thereafter the related information would be placed in the public domain. He thanked the Governor for launching the Website.
